The Blue Hepatus Tang is a rich blue color with contrasting black and yellow stripes. Also known as a "hippo tang" or "regal tang" this fish requires a large amount of algae. A tank with live rock and decor to provide several hiding spots and plenty of swimming space is recommended. Without hiding spots, this fish may "play dead" until a sufficient amount of crevices and caves are available. Although this species is one of the least aggressive of the tangs, they still tend to be most aggressive towards fish of similar form and color. To minimize aggression in a small aquarium it is recommended to have only one Tang.
