An active, and hardy butterflyfish, the Black & White Heniochus is usually a good addition to a reef tank. With its elegant elongated dorsal fin, the Heniochus are often known as Bannerfish rather than Butterflyfish. This is due to the movement of its dorsal fin while in motion, similar to a flag or banner's movement. More than one of this species in a tank can only be kept if they are introduced at the same time. The group will then form a hierarchy within the tank. Although generally a reef safe fish, there is the possibility of nipping at soft corals.
