Three Reasons Why You Should Get A Leash For Your Doggy

Leashes are practically straps or rope-like things that restrain your dogs from wandering off to wherever he may want to go. These work wonders for you since after all, you would be able to limit your dog's movements. This comes as a real miracle to dogs that are incredibly free spirited.

Have you ever seen the movie Marley and Me? Or if you're the type, read the whole novel? It's actually a great story about man's love for his canine friend and how much of a bond we could actually share between animals. Even Marley needed a leash.

Do you think your dog would need one too? Well, chances are he actually might. Here are a couple of reasons as to why you should get your pet dog a leash.

1. So you little four-legged friend wouldn't wander off all by himself

If you've got a free-spirited dog on your hands, you should know that if he's not disciplined enough yet, he will run like the wind whenever he gets the chance. After all, that's what dogs really do. They run, sniff, and chase after possible mates. You can't really fight their instincts if you would like to call it that.

However, you can limit these inhibitions and predispositions to their free and happy-go-lucky selves by tagging a leash onto their collars whenever you step out of the house for some fresh air or a walk or something. This way, your dog would be close to you at all times without you having to worry about him pooping on the neighbors lawn, or bolting away at some location in which you might not be quick enough to chase after him.

Finding a lost dog is a really difficult job that sometimes doesn't really bear any fruit no matter how badly you want him back. So if your dog isn't disciplined enough to stay off the leash, always make sure to keep him leashed whenever you and your dog go outdoors.

2. You get to control and limit his movements

Sometimes, we have to intervene with our dogs so they don't get into any trouble. You'd be surprised as to how many things a dog could get into trouble with. He could get into fights with other dogs, trespass on other people's property, and quite possibly even destroy property of other people as well.

One way for you to kick this nasty little habit to the curb is by keeping your dog on a leash at all times so that they wouldn't cause a problem to his surroundings and to other people. And trust us; you do not want to have a problem with other people because of your dog.

3. You get to decide on which places to go to whenever you're out on a walk

You have to let your dog know that you're in control whenever you decide to get some fresh air by walking your dog. You can't just let him run to wherever he pleases; you should be the one to decide on where you want to walk to.
